JJ de Vries Robbe has been teaching financial law since 2003. He gained experience in private practice in The Netherlands, amongst others working on NY cross-border leases. In banking, he expanded into the structured finance, developing a specialisation in (credit) derivatives and securitisation. In Australia, he helped to set up the structured finance practice of its largest law firm. He also worked in the derivatives team of one of the top Australian banks. JJ currently works at the Dutch Development bank FMO, focusing on emerging markets. His scope of work covers a variety of areas in international financial law, such as project finance, capital markets and regulatory reform. He is a fellow at the universities of Melbourne and Sydney. JJ is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales.

JJ has published seven books on financial law, with a focus on international & structured finance.

His International Law & Practice courses have consistently rated top tier by the participating students. In particular, students have assessed the courses as very well taught, and highly satisfactory.
